Standard DCMs are developed within projects across several domains. The first domains include:
- GP Information Systems & Collaborative Care Systems
- Physiotherapy
- Nursing
Participants in DCM development projects sign a contract with the Dutch DCM foundation, in order to receive funding by the Dutch government (Senter). An example of such a contract can be found here (in Dutch).
Standard DCMs will be developed by modellers, health care experts and system suppliers. Developments will be synchronized with other code systems such as SNOMED and LOINC and initiatives such as HL7, OpenEHR, NEN/CEN/ISO and NICTIZ.
DCMs developed internationally will be translated and made suitable for the Dutch market.
In the Netherlands so called health information models have been developed earlier. These will also be used to further enrich DCM development. See also: http://www.zorginformatiemodel.nl/ (in Dutch).
